We collect nonpublic personal information to process your loan application. The information that NorthStar Mortgage Corp.’s employees, representatives, agents and selected third parties may collect include the following:

-Information that we receive in verifying information you have given us from other sources regarding your employment with them, credit or other relationship information. This may include information such as employment history, salary information, loan or credit card payment history and balances , appraisals of your property, property insurance information, asset verification, etc.

-Information we receive from credit bureaus regarding your credit payment history, total and individual debt, etc.

-Information that we receive from public sources. This may include information received from federal, state and local records such as recorded liens on your property, real estate taxes, tax liens etc.

-If you visit our website we may use “cookies” (small text files transferred to our website to your hard drive) to recognize repeat users, track usage and facilitate your access to and use of the site. We do not use “cookies” to gather personal information, and we do not link cookies to identifiable information.

Disclosure of Information-

We do not sell customer information to non-affiliated third parties for marketing purposes. We have received complaints by various customers that they have received “junk mail” with our name on it marketing insurance and other products. We are not in any way affiliated with these companies. They get this information from public records and use our name on their mailings to attract attention. We have researched this and because they obtain the information from public records there is no way that we can stop them. Please be aware that any marketing that we may do will have our NMLS and Massachusetts Mortgage Lender and Broker License numbers on it.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law. If you decide to pay off your loan(s) we will adhere to the privacy policies and practices as described in this notice.

We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
